He's gorgeous. He's smart. He's the star of the high-school baseball team, but there's just something strange about the new boy in town that Ciara just can't put her finger on. Perhaps it would be in her best interest to not find out what it is.

Okay. I haven't blogged in a whilte and I don't do it nearly enough. Time to change that.

It's amazing how much you take the things around you everyday for granted. For 24 years I lived in Michigan and grew to hate the grey skies and the bitter cold 5 months out of the year. Now I think I would give almost anything to be back there again. I put on a face and tell people how much I disliked it, but when it comes right down to it I think I *would* trade the sunny mild winters of Arizona for the long harsh ones of Michigan. I know the economy there stinks even more so than most places and that people are abandoning Detroit and most of the other cities by the bus-load. But it was my *home*. I still can't say that I consider Tucson home. In my heart it's more like a prison than a home.

I really resent moving out here. I know that's where Becky wanted to go and I don't regret marrying her in the least, but I wish now I would have tried to convince her to not move so far away. Maybe somewhere a day's drive closer to family where three or four visits a year are possible instead of just one that costs 500 dollars in plane tickets. I miss my family. Everytime I visit Michigan now and I hug my Grandparents I can't help thinking to myself that next time I'll be hugging a head-stone instead. I hate that feeling.

All of the family around here are Becky's. HER mother. HER brother. And this increasingly annoying two-person sorority between Becky and Jennifer that I'll never be a part of. I'm just the spare wheel around here. In Michigan it may be cloudy and the wind is whipping off the lake and boring into your bones...but at least there people are glad to see *me.*

I'm going to bed now. I hope I'll dream of home.

Back to the Desert

My time in Michigan is running short. I don't want to go back. I hate the heat and getting stiffed on tips by annoying South Tucson people that don't realize how much of a delivery driver's paycheck goes into his freaking gas tank. All my relatives and everyone I grew up with are up here...I missed them and was ecstatic to spend time with them again. Now I'm going back to a town where no-one gives two hoots about me. Sounds fun eh?

I'm reporting to you from my hometown of Alpena, MI where I will be spending the next two weeks. Right now it is a lovely 75 degrees under fair skies, with just a light breeze.

Big decision of the day: what to have for lunch. Wow life is rough.

Hope y'all back in Tucson are having fun baking in the 100+ heat!

YES!!!!!!!!!!! The Detroit Red Wings beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2 in Game 6 to secure their 4th Stanley Cup in 11 seasons. Henrik Zetterberg was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy given to the Most Valuable Player in the playoffs. I may soon have a son named after him. (Sonogram on June 19 will decide if the baby is a boy!)

Now I finally get to shave off the gosh-darned playoff beared. It is driving me NUTS!!!!

Never ever ever EVER become a Columbia House member. Order your DVDs from Amazon. CH will screw you over at every turn. They charged our account for a directions selection even after we cancelled them. And they have absolutely no remorse that THEIR error caused our bank account to overdraw. Of course they didn't see it as their error, they blamed us, telling us that if you don't order at least one DVD every 5 months that the directors selection renews. They have a bullshit loophole for everything. I hate them. The suck.

After looking over my choices, reviewing photos and watching DVDs containing said characters, I have reached a conclusion in my costume search. It will be...(drum roll please) badadadadadadadadadadadadadadaaaaa da dum!

I already have most of the components together. I hope to round up the other this weekend, not the least of which being painting the mask. I'll have to print a picture as a guide. It must be a perfect match! It is the most important part of the costume. I have a mad scientist feeling right now. Muhahahahahha...
